Still Alive

Just wanted to do a quick update to assure you that I am indeed alive! I have been working with the chamber here in town to create a tourism position. I called to set an appointment with the mayor last Friday and still haven't heard anything back, so I will try again today.

I think thats about it as far as updates go. No new news. These Oklahoma allergens are dominating me- just when I think I have them under control I wake up and can't stop crying booooo allergies!

Wedding season is upon us, I have a wedding next weekend and then another one after that. Next weeks wedding is my friend Susanne from Germany. I will also get to see Emily again, from the LST team last year.

Thats all I've got folks! Be good and do good!

Limbo: Not The Dance

An intermediate, transitional, or midway state or place. A pretty good definition of where I am right now. I am still looking for a job- I have a great lead that I am following up this week- hopefully this one will work out!

While nothing has really been accomplished I have been really busy. Mom has been having a hard time at work- they are pretty much trying to bully her into quitting. I've spent a lot of time helping around the house with Robert, an old family friend who is just like a grandpa in our family, who lives with us now. I have also been spending a lot of time with Lisa, my best friend from school. She had a baby in March and has her hands full everyday with a newborn, her 3 year old and she also watches another toddler who is a little over 1.

Of course I have also been fishing. Haven't caught a lot but thats okay, I've always said fishing is about the experience not the quantity.

All that said- for the most part I'm still in transition. Still trying to find my place. Thats to be expected. So- thats all I've got for now! All is going well, im booking right a long, just passing time and living life until I get to that next point in life! On a side note- I do have another blog up and running. This is something I have been thinking about/ working on for some time now. Its just in the starting stages but check it out! Its about all of the off the beaten path places in Oklahoma www.discoverok.blogspot.com sorry I tried making it a link but the options on here hate me so you'll have to type it in yourself or google it!

Be good and do good!

Busy Busy

The past few weeks have been rather busy I do have to say! I have been keeping myself occupied with meetings with friends, the job search, and of course working on the apartment!

The apartment is still coming along slowly but surely! The meetings are going well, I have seen a lot of folks already and still have more folks to see this week!

The job search is also going well! I have a part time job finding host families for exchange students which should be fun and interesting! I also have an interview on Friday for a relationship specialist position in Muskogee. So, please keep the job hunt in your prayers!

I am also going to visit someone here in PV about something around here. I would rather stay in this area, but I am also open to move. I figure the Lords going to put me where he wants me! I just need to do my part to get there!

Thats all the news I have! Be good and do good!

Back and Alive

Oh man has the past week been hands down crazy! I made it in around 11:30 Tuesday night after about 26 hours of travel time!

Tuesday I went and got my car with mom.
Wednesday I worked upstairs in the apartment a lot. I am staying in the apartment we have above our garage but it needs some major work. I also visited the PV church wednesday night, Thursday afternoon I went with Lisa up to the doctor in Norman just have some hang out time with her. Friday I was more working in the apartment, we started painting Friday- we have almost all of the walls done. Its just a matter of moving the furniture around at this point and doing a few touch ups!
Saturday I got up early and went garage sale hopping- found a pack of Uno cards for 50 cents! That was it though. After that I went up to Yukon and saw my niece play soccer which of course was entertaining! Then we all went to dads house and grilled burgers and just hung out for a while. Sunday was church with dad in Lawton then visiting my grandma in the afternoon then back to PV for night service!

So there we go, its been crazy Go-Go-Go. Of course thats totally okay! This week I am going to send out some more resumes and go to main street PV and the chamber of commerce and just get my foot back in some doors hopefully!

Be good and do good!

Bye Now

Man oh man has it been a crazy couple of days! My birthday was on Thursday, and as anyone who knows me knows, I'm not a big fan of my birthday- i never remember how old i am anyways, its just another day!

Anyways, I did indeed, have a lovely birthday on Thursday. Friday was busy as usual, I invited a lot of folks over for a going away party. It was good to spend some time with them. We were able to grill lots and lots of food and just chat and shoot the breeze. As the sunlight faded we came inside for some dessert and then played some games and chatted.

Tomorrow we are doing a group breakfast of Pamcakes (also known as pancakes but these are made by Pam) and then back for some more packing. I have most of the "stuff" packed that I have, now its just clothes and trinkets. What to take what not to take. Baaaahhh! So much stuff. Anyways, after that we head to Leipzig for Saxon Singing. It is the first time it will be in Leipzig so that is exciting! After that we are going out to a little Mexican restaurant around the corner from the center for a "team dinner" with the entire American gang. That sounds gangsta- the american gang. Ha. Then its back hopefully not to late!

I saw an old contact at the store today, Conny, I read with her last year. She went on holiday (vacation) and then had knee surgery and has had some serious issues with her knee so we took a break. Anyways, I saw her randomly today so that was nice to get to say goodbye.

Thats all for now. No tears yet. I got close in team meeting today- but I didn't.

Be good and do good!

Survival

Yesterday was amazing. No other words. Just amazing!

The day started early with a trip to Limbach which is about 30 minutes away. I visited Lars' class. He would be a junior in the states-I have been to their class a few times now and it is always a blast! We played a different version of Taboo and then the picture game (pictionary meets telephone). They loved it!

I caught the bus back to chemnitz and then we were off to Burkhardtsdorf for our LST Baseball party. It was raining so we didn't get to play outside. That was probably for the best though because I realized Sunday that there were no real bats just a plastic one.... so we played in the gym with a tennis ball. The kids had a blast!

We came back and I took a little nap before movie night. Movie night went better then I could have thought! We had 9 people and watched To Save A Life. I was a little worried with it being a little more in your face about Christianity. We had some really great discussions about life being about the transformation not the destination and so on. It was great!

Today I saw Klause for the last time. We met for coffee and chatted for a little over an hour. It was sad to say goodbye, but it only gives you a chance to say hello again.

Thats all I have for today. Tomorrow morning I will work on packing some and then I have a reader, Kendra and Joel are coming for coffee and then Amanda is coming over for supper!

Have a great day! Be good and do good!

Sarah B

A friend told me that each morning when we get up we have to decide whether we are going to save or savor the world. I don't think that is the decision. It's not an either-or, save or savor. We have to do both, save and savor the world. ~Kate Clinton

Whew!

That was a busy weekend!

Friday I had a reader then went downtown to pick up some last minute things for senioren essen (the seniors evening where we made them food and provided entertainment). I grabbed some lunch downtown the up to the church for some last minute prep. Meeting back at the house then off to Leipzig for Ladies Night!

Ladies night was a blast, we had 10 people total and I think everyone had a good time! We were able to chat and play some games! After I made it home, Alex Karen and I watched Grey's Anatomy because it was the musical one which I thought was amazing! Karen and I ended up staying up til nearly 2 just chatting!

Saturday I hit the ground running again! Forgetting to set my alarm I over slept (which hasn't happened since my sophmore year in college!!!). I did some shopping for the weekend then went up the church to get set up for senioren essen. It was big hit, everyone had a great time!

After that was finished around 7:30 or so Karen and I went over to Steffi's for her 21st birthday! I enjoyed seeing her New Zealand pictures and spending some time with her family. Karen and I were both worn out so we came home after that and hit the sack.

Today was just as busy- church this morning then Larry and Pam invited Karen and I for lunch which was amazing as always when Pam cooks. Came back to the house after that to clean up a little for Movie Night tomorrow night then started some baking. Sven came over around 3 to help me bake. At 5 we had sport and we had an awesome turnout at sport- 19 people!! We had 3 teams which hasn't happened in a while! It was a good time! Then back to the house and finish the baking and getting questions lined up for movie night. We watched a movie and relaxed for a bit before I skyped with some family. Now its 12:30 and I'm about to hit the sack!

Its been busy but its been great! I have to start packing this week. Still sending out applications- I reformatted my resume this week so hopefully that will help some. I have a job in OKC that just came open last week that I will apply for.

Thats all the news I have from here!

Please pray for our movie night Monday night. I am hosting this month and we are watching To Save A Life. It covers a wide variety of topics- I've got a few narrowed down though- life isn't about the destination but the transformation- what is the difference between religion and faith- how does the film define Christian and how is that different from what we know?

Be good and do good!

Good Days Are Here Again

The emotions are starting to hit and I don't think last week helped any at all. 13 days left. This time in 2 weeks I will be on a flight to OKC. The crazy-ness is about to start. Here is a short run-down of the upcoming 2 weeks:

Its going to be an emotional 2 weeks, I can feel it now.

Part of me would be just fine getting on a plane and not saying goodbye but I know I can't do that. So goes life.

Still looking for a job and sending out resumes all the time. Tomorrow will be the last day I will have to actually work on sending any out until I get back. It would be much easier going back if I knew I had a job waiting for me. It is all taken care of, I know that, but man the waiting is killer!

Thats all I got folks! Be good and do good!

Sucky Days

Its been about 2 years since something really bad has happened to someone close to me. For that, I am very thankful.

However in the past few days really bad things just keep happening to those around me. A friend from college lost her baby boy last week. I can't even imagine the pain they are going through, but they are a strong couple and are surrounded with love right now.

Snickers was put to sleep yesterday. Yea, she was old, but it was really sudden and still very sad.

And to top all that off, one of my best friends lost a really good friend suddenly this weekend. It sucks when you see your friends hurting, it sucks even more when you know they are hurting and there is nothing you can do for them.

But, through all that blessings are still all around. Saturday was also the choir concert in Dresden and there was a great turnout! The place was packed!

This morning we were also packed at worship which is always a good problem to have! We had a wonderful turnout and lots of guests!

Be good and do good!

Confidence

Isn't it assuring to know that we walk confidently with the Lord knowing that indeed there is a master plan and it is all for His glory?

I have to keep reminding myself of that as I apply for jobs. I sent in 6 internship applications today. Who knows! Im applying for everything I can! Although the internships are with Southwest Airlines and that would be awesome! Just saying!

When I feel stressed I bake. Yesterday I made a chocolate pie- I think im going to make another one tomorrow! Steffi and Miriam are both coming over for supper and just to chat. Crazy how fast time flies.

Saturday is the singing concert in Dresden, Sunday is Leipzig again!

Thats all I got folks! Be good and do good!

Ladies Retreat

This past weekend was the English Ladies Retreat, I went last year and had a good time. This year I was a bit iffy about going, it was a good time last year, but it was a lot of money for a short amount of time yada yada. Anyways, I decided to go again to at least see the people I met last year and spend some quality time with the folks that went with us.

It was an amazing weekend! I met some amazing Godly women and I am so very glad that I went! We made it on time, which was nice (last year we were about 4 hours late)! I was an amazing small group with a military lady, an older english lady, a texan who was visiting her daughter, a volleyball player who came over and met her husband and came back and got married, the wife of a business man who works over here, a lovely lady from China who married a german man, and another american that married a german man. It was a great group, a nice variation of people from young to old. I'm very glad that I went and was able to meet all of those great women!

Please keep Susanna in your prayers, she is going to Frankfurt in the morning and has her interview at the embassy on Wednesday to get her visa approved. I'm sure everything will be fine, but it is still a stressful situation.

Be good and do good!

Fun Experience

And by fun I mean embarrassing. Sending out resumes- oh what a joy! I sent one in yesterday to a travel agency, and while they wanted experience and I have no actual experience in the field! I have indeed traveled a lot, I decided to give it a go. I sent in my cover letter and resume. A few short hours later I received an email from them saying that they only received one page of my resume and asked me to resend it.

My resume is only one page.... awkward I know. I opened the PDF that I sent and you could barely read the bottom line, it was enough to know there was more written but you would not be able to make out the words. I waited a few hours and responded apologizing for the mistake, and correcting the format to be more easily readable, and assuring them it was only 1 page.

Fail.

Tomorrow I will be calling and getting things started with my stocks. Oh the joys of moving countries! Next week I will try to get in to get a new visa for my stay here seeing as mine is currently 4 months expired, and then I will need to go unregister for Chemnitz and tell them im moving back to the states because they track people!

And thats all the news I have. I want to ask for your continued prayers for those in Japan. As far as I can tell, everyone that I know over there is okay and so are all of their family, however they are the lucky ones. Please continue to keep everyone in Japan in your prayers, the trials to come are great and tension is sure to rise.

The picture up there was the sunset on Saturday at our area wide singing, it was a beautiful day!

Be good and do good!

Church Growth

I just have to say I am in absolute amazement at the way God is working in Leipzig! I was able to go and spend some time with Mark and Karen this past week. I went on Tuesday afternoon and attended the English Bible Study they have once a month in Leipzig and it was great! There were 3 visitors who have all been visiting a handful of times.

It was awesome just to see the potential that is taking place there, the growth!

Tuesday I spent with Karen and Mark, Mark had class in the morning so Karen and I walked around their neighborhood and strolled downtown since it was a nice day. We met up with Mark and had lunch then strolled around downtown a little longer. I caught the train back that evening, all in all it was a great trip! I even got to meet one of their contacts who seems like an amazing young women, im kinda of sad i won't get to know her better!

I also met with Isabel this week, we had a very nice chat and were able to just relax and discuss the book and talk to each other.

Thats all the news I have in news! Still sending out resumes, nothing in response yet. I am planning on taking the GRE for grad school when I get back then I'll start sending out applications.

Be good and do good!

Resumes

Ive been sending out Resumes this week. So far I think ive send out 4 or 5 all in the OKC area. I am looking around but trying to stay in OK or North Texas.

I also got my ticket changed yesterday. I went to Dresden early yesterday morning and moved it officially to the 12th of April. I met Bri for lunch, it was nice to chat and just hang out for a bit.

Then we met up with Kendra and Joel and all caught the train to Chemnitz. They were coming for the big choir concert this Saturday!!! Getting close!!! I hope we have enough room! Usually we went our a place but this year we decided to just host it in the church.

Thats all the news I have here. Have a wonderful week!

Slump

I'm starting to get all of the mixed emotions about going back. I'm excited to see those I love, but I'm also very sad to say goodbye to those that I have worked hard to build relationships with. Ehhh emotions like this suck big time.

In other news, I sent out my first resume last week and plan on sending out 3 more this week. I have 4 jobs I'm really looking at, so we'll see if I interest any of them.

I went to Leipzig yesterday for coffee and worship and man have I missed the singing! We had a big crowd last night, 13. Thats a big crowd for us. Anyways, the singing was great! I loved it! Its hard to describe a lot of things, and that is one of them. You never realize you miss something until you have it again, you know? Last night was one of those moments, we sing at EBS and during LST those were the weeks that got me through, but now they have become the norm. I don't know where im going with that.

Also, I have a friend Sarah that I was in club with at OC. She was having some problems last year and went to the doc, had high blood pressure so they admitted her to the hospital for 2 months and got it under control and she was doing well. She went back a few months ago for a check up and it was worse again and they found out she has some disease which I can't remember the exact name of. Anyways, she has 5% kidney function and is getting on the transplant list as well as having dialysis 3 times a week. If you could keep her in your prayers that would be great, she is not much older than me, im guessing she is 25. It has to be scary going through all of that at such a young age.

I told Ursula, my older reader that could be my grandma, that I was going back in April. She nearly started crying, she said she didn't understand, I was supposed to go back in September so I explained to her how everything works. It was just so sad :(. She went to Turkey right after Christmas, she was able to come to the Christmas coffee and meet my dad and cindy which was great, im glad she got to meet them (although she did insult my dads intelligence by telling him I was smarter because I knew 2 languages-which i would hardly agree with!). Anyways, she had just returned the week before and this was our first meeting since December. I was afraid I wouldn't get to say goodbye when I thought I was leaving in February.

Okay enough of that. I'm off to get ready to take on the world! Be good and do good!

Hamburg & Lubeck

Here a few pictures for your viewing pleasure of my trip to Hamburg and Lubeck!

On a side note, I was meeting with Isabel yesterday and on the way there and back I was simply smiling at peoples. That might be a norm in the states, but not here. You generally don't acknowledge people you don't know. I have found some people respond with a smile and a head nod and then others turn around to see if I am acknowledging someone else! Its quite entertaining if nothing else!

Kids

Today I spent most of the day with one of the kids in the church, Kai. He is 10 I believe and a great little kid, reminds me a lot of my nephew Hunter. He came over this morning and we mixed up so cookie dough, then learned to play Speed. We did lunch, then came back for the cookie baking! In between the baking and cutting, we played rounds of Speed (a new favorite for ever German i've taught it to!). Once all the cookies were baked we headed out the door!

First we visited Omi # 1, we talked for a few minutes and had a quick bathroom brake. Then we were off to Omi # 2, she was in a hurry and kind of grumpy so we just dropped the cookies off and wished her a good day! Then off to Omi #3! We had a coffee date for 3. We sat and chatted and enjoyed coffee and warm milk. We chatted up about the weather and church family for an hour and then headed back to the house. After a few quick games of Speed again he was off to head home! Good day, very good day!

Its my personal opinion that doing something good for someone helps with all the other bad things in this world. That warm fuzzy feeling we get when we help, when we know we have done the right thing, thats a feeling that is meant to be shared. Everyone needs to experience that every now and again!

In other news I found a few more jobs I am going to apply for in the OKC area. Worse case, they say no, but its worth sending out and giving it a go anyways!

Thats all I have for now! Have a great week! Be good and do good!

Back and Kicking

Greetings! I made it back safely today. I had a great trip and really enjoyed both seeing the sights and meeting people.

Traveling like that makes me remember why I love people so much. I was able to experience the hospitality and kindness of people and to me that just shows more how great our God is!

Im back to work tonight with an LST appointment right before EBS and then hopefully a dinner with folks tomorrow night!

Be good and do good!

Hamburg Day 1

Quick blog about my trip here and arrival: All went well, I was able to finish everything at the house that I needed to got my bags all packed and out the door on time! I was having issues getting money on my phone but alas I figured it out at the train station! Made all of my connections just fine. As I went through Berlin I defiantly understand why we got off at the Sud Berlin stop a few years ago instead of the main station! Thats okay though, I got off at the right one this time!

When I walked out of the station in Hamburg I couldn't get my barring on the directions which kinda helps when your trying to follow directions. It was snowing and cold and people everywhere so I hesitantly took my first taxi ever. Only when I told him where I was going he just looked at me, so I showed him the paper as he pulled away with the address on it and as we pulled into the street he started complaining he had been waiting 2 hours in line, 2 hours, to get someone. I took it as him venting. Then I realized all he really did was turn left and we were there. So, my first taxi ride 3.20 euro lol. I gave the guy a 10 because I felt bad but that could have been his point in complaining, it was late and an hour later when I walked back to the train station there were hardly any taxis left!

I checked in and grabbed a bite at an italian restaurant around the corner and watched as the snow fell on the little plaze and people scurried about. I had picked out the Cotton Club online, supposed to be the oldest jazz club in Hamburg so I set out to find it. An hour and a half later once I had been walking in the snow for 45 minutes and couldn't feel my nose I finally found someone who knew where I was going. This very nice couple walked me right to the door, they had been married in vegas and visited the states many times and were more than excited to both practice their english and help an american! Once I did finally make it in the club I had an interesting fellow come and sit by me. He was an older gentleman, professor-esk, with pepper gray hair and a cute old man hat and maroon scarf around his neck. He had a snazzyily dressed younger man with him, not sure who that was. Apparently this cute old man was a regular there and knew the band leader for the night. It was neat to watch the band warm up and get going, but then in talking to the old man I mentioned my parents were from baton rouge and I was very familiar with new orleans and jazz and he just ate it up! At the next brake he called his band leader friend over to talk to me who again was very impressed that I came all the way just to see his band play lol. I had a song dedicated to me in the next set, it was great, don't remember what it was called though. Then I left and it was sad, but it was late and I know in Chemnitz the public transit slows down significantly after 10 pm! After much confusion and again help from a local I found my way back to the train station and then my hostel.

And here we are day two! The end!

Be good and do good!

Planning

Lots of planning going on right now. Getting ready for the LST teams and finished the hand outs and signs and all that fun stuff!

The choir group has a concert next month and that will be a big push for LST.

Tuesday I leave for Hamburg and Im trying to be a good tourist and have my time roughly planned out so as to not waste time trying to find my way around and figuring out what to do. Ive found a few really neat places im excited to visit- take a harbor tour, visit the hamburg dungeon, there is a old jazz club just around the corner from my hostel! its going to be fun!

Sending our resumes is always fun. Nothing like baring your soul on a piece of paper and hoping it is adequate enough and waiting in limbo and then hoping that if indeed they do like what they see they (the company) are willing to wait.

I had a great meeting with Isabell yesterday, we just talked for nearly 2 hours. It was nice to not have an agenda, we usually work through the book we are reading, but yesterday we just talked.
Thats all I have for now. Be good and do good!

Saying Goodbye

It is weird mentally trying to prepare to say goodbye to people I have worked so hard to form relationships with. I have slowly been telling people that I will be heading home in April, but it was announced at church today and it was a weird feeling.

I realized that I have around 9 weeks left and thats it. There is a lot to do in that time, starting telling my contacts, figuring out the best way to contact each person so they can be followed up with either by the intern coming in May, the LST team, or the HIM workers.

Im kind of doing a Hail Mary in a sense of trying everything I can and trying to make sure I get the most out of what time I have left.

Other than that, everything is going well right now. Movie night is tomorrow night, we are watching Inception and I think we will have a good turnout.

I will do my last movie night in April- I was thinking about showing, To Save A Life- any thoughts? It is pretty churchy, but it is also not. Who knows- I think im going to order it and have mom send it over and watch it again to see what I think.

Ah, I got my laptop fixed last week for free! Thank you Apple for your warranty! I was expecting to have to pay, but there was a chip on my keyboard which meant that it could be replaced under warranty for free! Its always exciting when you are expecting to have to pay for something and end up getting it for free.

Thats all the news I have. Readers are going well, finishing up the LST material for Leipzig and hope to have it finalized this week.

Be good and do good!

Alive Again

This week the entire Ami Ecke (American Corner) was sick! It was pathetic actually lol. But alas we are all alive again. A week of rest was good for us all, and I got some reading done! I was able to finish Max Lucado's new book Out Live Your Life- it was good! I enjoyed some chapters more than others, but over all it was a good book!

I also got a run of 20 perfect suduko's on my touch- thats an accomplishment! And finished Jodi Picoti or however you spell it, The Pact. That was alright, not one of my favorite books, I like My Sisters Keeper Better. I just started a new one today, Now And Not Yet. I am thinking about doing a study with one of the young adults here next with that one. Only on chapter 2 thus far, but seems interesting. Its about being content where we are when we aren't where we thought we would be in life. We'll see!

I finally finished my resume and cover letter- I gave it to a few people to review before I send it in next week. I'm not really sure what to do as far as address, should I put my address here or where it will be when I get back? Do I put that i'm not in the country yet or just leave that out and mention it if they inquire? What is protocol? I don't have a clue!!!!

I am planning a trip to Hamburg in a few weeks. Last year I went to Munich and loved it! I love traveling! I have booked a hostel for 2 nights in Hamburg and I will get in late afternoon on Tuesday. Then Thursday night I have a hostel booked in Lubeck which is about 45 minutes away and is supposed to be a medieval city. Ive heard lots of neat things about each city, im excited to go explore! I found really cheap tickets for 30 euro there and back, how do you pass that up?

Its exciting getting ready to go though, a lot of my readers have been so its neat asking people what to see and where to go! I'm excited!

Thats all the news I have on this end! Just meeting with readers and trying to get things lined up on this end.

In the next few weeks I will be making calls to the volunteer places I was given a few months ago at the volunteer office. Since we are going to have a lot of visitors this summer, the Sullivans thought it would be a good idea if they had some free time to do some volunteer work in town somewhere so I am going to scope out each place and see what each one is and how many people can go and help and what not! So thats what this next week will be full of, getting those appointments set up for this week and next!

P.S. I was listening to country music today and it just feels like a normal day in OK with the sun and music and what not and it made me miss my dog Lady. Lady is an old white bird dog and she loves to walk up right. When I was younger (and occasionally still...) I would put on country music and we would walk around the room. Snickers isn't quite tall enough for that.... that is all.

Thats all folks! Be good and do good!

This time ya'll get some of my favorite one liners from Out Live Your Life:

Poverty is not the lack of charity, but the lack of justice.
Save one life. Save the world!
God outfits his followers to cross cultures and touch hearts.
Courage comes as we live with Jesus.
I am not his body; you are not his body. We-together-are his body.
Your hospitality can be their hospital.
There is something fundamentally good about taking time to see a person. (AMEN)
First, kind eyes meet desperate ones. Next, strong hands help weak ones. Then, the miracle of God. We do our small part, he does the big part!
Scripture endorses not forced communism, but Spirit-led volunteerism among God's people.
We think we're shaking up the world when actually we're just along for the ride.
Stay strong. Call him brother.
He is still listening. Are we still praying?
That's Jesus playing that fiddle.

Busy Busy

Hey folks! Things here are going well, keeping busy! Today is my "down day" of the week so I thought I would update on here.

LST at Karen's school is going really well. I was able to spend a little more time just chatting with my readers this week which was nice! I finished my newsletter for this month I just need to proof it before i send it out! I have also been looking at jobs for when I get back to the states.

I found 2 that I will send out resumes for, we'll see what happens! I have redrafted my resume this week as well, I lost it when my computer crashed this summer and my other digital copies are in a box somewhere in Oklahoma lol. Just as easy to redraft it!

Tuesday I went and visited all of our older ladies in the church, that was fun! I didn't stay for long just dropped off some flowers and said hello!

Yesterday I spent the day with Steffi in Dresden. We had lunch together at her apartment and then walked around the Neustadt for a little bit. We went to a little english shop that Steffi had been to before and had afternoon tea! That was fun! Then back to Chemnitz for an LST appointment with Ralf which went well!

Thats been the week! Today im working on some things around here, laundry, reading ect. All is good! Tomorrow I hit the ground running again! with have English Bible Study tomorrow night and then Saturday Ladies Breakfast and then lunch and coffee with the older ladies. Sunday is Leipzig day!

Its snowing again. It snowed yesterday but it all melted (awww shucks!) however today it seems to be sticking! Luckily its not that much yet!

Be good and do good!

Back to Life

Happy New Year everyone! Things here are going really well! We had our new years eve party at church last night and it went really well! We had around 30 people (give take a few) that came! We all had a great night! Played a lot of Uno and Nertz which always makes for a good time! We even got Valdemar, one of the older gentlemen, to play some Uno with us!

Not much new news around here. It was kind of surreal this Christmas knowing that this is my last year in Chemnitz. Part of me wants to take advantage of every opportunity but then another part is telling me to relax and just enjoy the moment and stop thinking about it. Its a tough line.

Its still snowing. It warmed up yesterday and melted a little, but don't be fooled, there are still 2-3 foot high piles everywhere. Its not bad snowing though, it snows then warms up and turns to rain then gets colder and turns back to snow. Its pretty, thats for sure!

This week Im going to take a visit to Gesila and have coffee with her. I'm also going to try and get back in contact with Ursula, the cousin of one of the guys that goes to church with dad. I called her when I got back from the states and she was sick and told me to try back next month but that was right around Thanksgiving and things have been crazy with constant guests from November until now. Things are slowing down again so hopefully I can start visiting Ursula each week too!

Last Sunday the Pietche's invited all of the singles from church over for lunch,it was nice to be able to spend time with everyone. We all played and talked for a little bit, then everyone left and it was Karen, Sven, myself and the Pietches. It was great to be able to just spend time and relax and have fun.

Monday is movie night, we are watching the Guardian this month. I need to watch it and get my questions, maybe this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon. Last time I had way to many questions, going for 4 this time!

Wednesday we are meeting Stephan and Cindy, they invited us out for Greek so we will go have supper with them. This is Cindy's last week off (she just joined the military and finished her basic training) so she will head back on Sunday night. Not sure what is next for her!

Whoa that was a long post, sorry about that! Anyways, happy new year everyone!

Be good and do good!
